Remake of Matlock (1986)
This is a charming and interesting interpretation of a legal series. The casting of Kathy Bates and Beau Bridges is classic CBS, and while this isn’t asking too much, it’s a fun and easy watch.
She handles it with aplomb
Yes, there is a twist at the end that will give the series some much-needed depth. Kathy Bates plays the title character, Matlock, a post-secondary lawyer who hasn’t practiced since 1991.
Obviously, everyone doubts her abilities and thinks she’s too old, and she tries to prove them wrong
on probation with a law firm and set out to make herself useful in order to get a job.
