It is an interesting take on the story of the underground bunker, of a people who have survived underground for so long that a civilization has emerged within it, with traditions, myths, beliefs, rituals, and ceremonies that are rooted in events that have been forgotten and a status quo social structure is established. And when that status quo that maintains order is challenged, execution and punishment ensue. A power structure is formed, creating a stratified population, both figuratively and literally, from the top of the silo down. That’s the premise, and while it’s not entirely original (think Snowpiercer, Dark City, etc.), there’s enough novelty here and it seems well-executed for a Jones and Will Patton TV series. (But as you can tell from the show’s poster, there are guest stars to make way for the regular cast, with Rebecca Ferguson in the lead role.) The series seems to be pretty decent, with good production values. There are elaborate sets and good CGI to provide a believable atmosphere. While a suspicious mind will uncover some obvious conspiracies early on, there are mysteries uncovered that will keep me watching.
