Avril, a young lawyer specializing in animal protection, does everything she can to save her client, a repeat offender dog, from the death penalty. This dog helps Avril accept her human complexity. During development, Leticia Dosh met Justine Treat, who told her that she was making Anatomy of the Fall (2023), a film about an experiment involving a dog and a visually impaired female leader. The similarities almost made Dosh abandon the project.
