And a completely new design is great for this
This is the latest version of the Windows operating system with a new interface and other new features such as the new Microsoft Store, a new AI-powered personalized feed, the top-notch browsing performance of Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Chat Teams integrated into the taskbar and much more! What’s new in Windows 11: – Windows 11 will get a completely new design. Microsoft clearly needs a good reason to reverse its previous claims and still abandon Windows 10 by introducing a new operating system number. The Redmond giant has long been preparing a redesign for an update codenamed Sun Valley (“Sun Valley”) – apparently, under this name there was Windows 11. The Sun Valley project shone on the net for a long time – Microsoft regularly announced details of the new user interface style, insiders shared the previously unknown information, and popular designers in their circles drew realistic concepts based on all this data.
– Start and system items float above the bottom bar
Start is the business card and face of every current version of Windows. It is not surprising that in Windows 11 the developers will redesign it again, but not so much in terms of functionality as in terms of appearance – the Start window will be located above the bottom bar. We must admit that this small change will make the system look much more modern. Judging by the information on the network, Microsoft will not radically change the “inside” of this menu – the innovations will only affect the design of the window itself. The control panel will also be floating and its design will exactly match the “Start”.
– Right angles will disappear and be replaced by curves
The Action Center will be merged with the control keys – a similar one has long been used in some other operating systems. Almost all mentions of this new menu indicate that it is an island – control keys will be on a separate panel, notifications on another, and certain elements (such as a player) on a separate panel. In fact, insiders and concept designers are divided on this point – some are confident that Microsoft will not change its traditions and keep right angles, while others are convinced that Microsoft will follow the fillet fashion in 2021. The latter fits better with the definition of “all-new Windows” – floating menus alone are not enough to consider a new design truly new. Files are expected to affect virtually everything in the system, from context menus and system windows to all application windows.
– There will be a translucent background with blur everywhere
However, the opinions of concept designers also differ on this issue – some draw curves on all possible interface elements, others combine them with right angles. There is disagreement on the Internet about the island style of the storefronts, the corner design and the menu levitation effect, but almost everyone agrees about the transparency of the windows. The vast majority of design leaks and renders show transparency and blur in all windows, be it at least the Start menu or Explorer. In addition, these effects are also in the composition of the discontinued Windows 10X operating system, which Microsoft developed in parallel with the Sun Valley project for devices with two screens and weak devices. The so-called acrylic transparency implies the use of new effects when hovering the mouse cursor over elements, as well as a larger spacing between elements – the areas of the interface with which the user interacts will certainly become larger, and page titles will become thicker.
– New font that has already been shown
Windows 11 will probably use the standard responsive Segoe UI Variable font, which is already included in Windows 10 Build 21376 for Insiders. Its advantage is that it is equally suitable for small texts and large inscriptions.
